Card My Yard started in 2014 by two moms in Austin, TX with a simple goal to serve families and make a positive impact in the community as small business owners. Card My Yard exists to first spread joy, and second provide stunning yard greetings for any occasion. In 2017, I opened the first Card My Yard location in Tennessee and the first yard greeting service in Rutherford county. Card My Yard Murfreesboro, TN is proud to have served over 4,000 residents since we opened.
Card My Yard currently has over 500 franchise locations throughout the US that provide high quality customer service and customized yard greetings, allowing you to send a greeting across the country easily with a few clicks of our fully integrated website. Locally, our franchise offers hundreds of options to ensure each greeting is unique and perfect for any occasion. Birthdays are our most frequent bookings, but we are always ready for anything – graduation, welcome home, adoptions, commercial opportunities (i.e. now hiring, employee appreciation, grand opening, etc.) and more! We have perfected the art of exceptional customer service with 230 positive online reviews and 0 negative in our 6 years in business, and we take pride in giving our customers an experience they won’t forget.
What inspired you to start your business?
I decided to open a Card My Yard franchise because it seemed like a wonderful opportunity to serve my community and exercise my creative side while providing supplemental income for my household. It was a concept I had never seen before and with Murfreesboro being the fastest growing city in Tennessee, I knew I wanted to be the first yard greeting service in the area. I discovered Card My Yard initially when I saw a friend in Dallas post a picture of a greeting she booked for her son’s birthday, and the rest is history!
What do you enjoy most about the work you do?
My favorite part of being a Card My Yard franchisee is having the opportunity to serve this wonderful community. I always hope to reflect the love of Christ in all that I do, and Card My Yard affords me the opportunity to do that often in the everyday operations and by giving back through donated yard greetings.
Can you share any success stories or memorable moments from your business?
There have been so many memorable moments over the years, but one that impacted me heavily was a greeting we did for a young mother during the end stages of her life to show her how much she was loved. I had just finished setting everything up when her husband came outside to see the sign. His strength was incredible. We talked for a few minutes about her life and how special the sign was, then I got in my car to leave. I sat for a moment, crying. Then, I looked up and saw her family bringing her outside to view the sign. It is a memory etched forever in my mind. She passed away less than two weeks later.
A major turning point in our business was March 2020 with the introduction of COVID, and along with it, the start of drive-by celebrations. Our business went from averaging 20 orders per month to over 200 in the months of April and May 2020. Those days were long and exhausting, but rewarding being able to bring something positive to so many people during a challenging time.

I am very fortunate to be part of the Card My Yard franchise system, which works tirelessly to stay ahead of trends and be an innovator in the yard greeting industry. Card My Yard was the first yard greeting company to develop illuminated yard signs under our trademarked celeBRITE product line, and continues to lead the way in innovation.
